Killarney, a couples haven

Turn moments into memories this February at The Lake Hotel. Whether it’s a romantic weekend away or maybe you are getting in on ‘Galentines Day’ which celebrates female friendship on February 13th, the Lake Hotel offers stunning views, four star luxury, a warm welcome and delectable dining.

As well as being the winner of the most romantic hotel in the Munster region at the Irish Hotel awards last year, the Lake Hotel is the perfect haven, enveloped with green landscapes, mountains and the most spectacular views right on our door step. Experience old world charm and 4 star elegance while nestled in Killarney’s National Park. Sounds romantic? We know! The distinctive combination of mountains, lakes and national park under ever changing skies gives the area a special scenic beauty and more of a reason to plan a romantic Valentine’s staycation with us.

With romantic tracks and trails, spectacular waterfalls and the National Park, Killarney truly is a couples haven and we have created a list of 6 reasons to choose Killarney this Valentine’s.

Reason 1 .. A day of pampering!

Ideal for those looking to spend quality time with their partner, the Lake Wellness Centre offers you the perfect treat for relaxation and rejuvenation. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of being on the lake shore. A range of relaxing, revitalising and therapeutic face and body treatments are available from our experienced and friendly therapist. A full list of all treatments is available in our Treatment Brochure

Reason 2… Sunset Kayak

Ideal for those seeking adventure. Kayaking in Killarney is a wonderful way to explore the beauty and history of Killarney. Kayak from Ross Castle right through Lough Leane to Innisfallen island and experience some of the most dramatic scenery imaginable. Watch the sunset over Killarney’s National Park as you drift on the lake.

Reason 3…A romantic Horse Trail

Killarney Riding stables provide daily trails through Killarney National Park. You will experience a unique opportunity to admire the Red Deer and other wildlife with breathtaking views of the lakes and mountains in Killarney.

Reason 4… A Boat tour, a romantic way to explore Killarney.

As the Lake Hotel is located on the lake shore, we have our own private pier at the rear of the hotel adjacent to the 12th century castle ruins. A boat trip whilst staying with us can begin in the easiest of ways, by strolling down to the pier and stepping out onto the waters of the famous Lakes of Killarney. Why not let us organise a packed lunch and enjoy a romantic picnic whilst out exploring the beautiful surroundings.

Reason 5… Torc waterfall

One of Killarney’s forefront and most loved tourist attractions in the heart of Killarney’s National Park and right on our door step. The setting of Torc waterfall is very romantic, nestled at the base of Torc Mountain which offers panoramic views of the town and the lakes of Killarney

Reason 6… A romantic evening meal

The Castlelough Restaurant offers you the perfect setting for a romantic dinner experience this Valentines. Dining in this space with the breath-taking scenery as a backdrop is a memorable and magical experience. The food on offer competes with the stunning vista for attention, with a range of locally sourced fresh seafood, seasonal meats, organic vegetables, local cheeses and mouth-watering deserts. The Castlelough restaurant has been awarded with two AA Rosettes for four consecutive years in recognition of exemplary service and the high standard of food prepared and served by our Executive Chef Noel Enright and his talented kitchen team. We invite you to come experience it for yourself.
